November Blogging Challenge: Attitude of Gratitude

November 9th: What is one way you could develop the Attitude of Gratitude in your classroom or school? Try it out

Last year for our character trait of the month Kindness and Caring, I asked the class if they wanted to do a random acts of kindness project, whereby each morning they picked a slip of paper that had a random act of kindness written on it and then at some point during the day they had to actually do it. We did this for a month!! The kids absolutely loved it. So maybe I can try something similar but with gratitude slant.

One way to start this off is to say “What’s right?”, instead of “what’s wrong?”. It is sometimes too easy to focus on the things that are going wrong in our lives than what is actually going right. Perhaps posting up this question in the class somewhere or beginning the day with this question, can get everyone in that attitude of gratitude peace of mind.
