November 3rd: What are you most proud of to date in your teaching career?

One thing that I am most proud of is the fact that I’ve been at the same school for the past 14 years, I’ve taught different grades in that time, but I have to say that I am actually proud of staying at a school that I believe in, and with a community that I have come to love. I’m proud that I have established myself over the years as a constant teacher who is there for the students and the community. I’m proud of the reputation that I’ve established with my students, families, parents, administration. Longevity says something, and I’m really quite proud of the fact that I’ve been at my current school for that long.

I’m also proud that I take risks as a teacher/professional, by that I mean, I don’t often stay in my comfort zone for long. I have moved around to different grades every few years and have had a variety of leadership opportunities that I’ve enjoyed over the years.

  1. Hi Marla! It’s great to have you here for the blog challenge! I’m enjoying reading your posts and I particularly loved this one. You’ve obviously worked incredibly hard and value the school you are a big part of. Looking forward to reading more posts.
