Day 14: Reflective Teacher Blogging Challenge

Day 14: What is feedback for learning and how well do you give it to students?

Feedback for learning is what we call Descriptive Feedback, it’s a way for teachers to give one to one feedback to their students based on their performance, which is based off of the success criteria that has been established by both the teacher and the students. Giving students feedback is so important and even though it’s time consuming and takes a lot of effort, it is so worth it. As a teacher I have definitely seen growth in my students work and I’d like to believe it’s because of the descriptive feedback I provide them. It doesn’t always have to be in writing, giving feedback orally is just as valid, whatever way you choose to give feedback it needs to have a purpose, that’s the really critical part about delivering feedback.
